A boat trip on the Great Pond in the Catherine Park was always a favourite pastime with the residents of Tsarskoe Selo.

Nowadays too, it is possible to take a trip around the Great Pond in summer on a gondola – a traditional Venetian-style vessel, constructed in a St Petersburg boatyard in strict conformity with an Italian design – and relax in soft purple-trimmed armchairs while enjoying superb views of the park and pavilions from the water.

Summer months only. No fixed days or hours, depends on weather. No rides in rain or strong wind.
