St Petersburg members of Lions Club International (LCI) graciously volunteered to help clear the lawns in the Alexander Park of the mowed grass.

Established in Chicago in 1917, the international non-political service organization now has over 1.4 million members in local clubs throughout more than 200 countries of the world.

The action in the park was supported by the LCI members in St Petersburg, the Lions club Riona and the Leo club (LCI’s youth wing) White Nights. They were joined by volunteers from the U.K. and Tanzania who currently study and live in St Petersburg.

The Lions are involved in lots of socially important programs, including environmental actions. Their motto is "We Serve".
