Springtime is officially here as the sculptures in the Catherine and Alexander Parks of Tsarskoe Selo start removing their "winter clothes" from 15th April 2021.

Over seventy four outdoor sculptures were covered up last autumn. Now their special wooden boxes are being removed, starting with the statues at the Main Porch facing the Main Courtyard of the Catherine Palace. Then comes the turn of the statues in the Private Garden and on the Large Chinese Bridge.

Twenty two Venetian marble sculptures along the Hermitage Alley in the Old Garden will be 'undressed' extra carefully, as well as the sculptures on the Granite Terrace.

The only one not needing uncovering after winter is our famous Girl with a Pitcher which is currently on loan and will return in late May.

Please Note: From 24 April 2021 the Catherine Park is ticketed, its Maids-of-Honour and Hanging Gardens open for visiting, and the Chapelle opens for visiting in the Alexander Park.
