Memorial envelopes and writing paper of the 1870s-1900s are donated to Tsarskoe Selo by Mrs Galina A. Lebed' of St Petersburg.

Her father, a decorated WWII veteran who died in 2003, served in a rifle regiment with a command post at the Alexander Palace in 1941. When the army was retreating, he salvaged the paper and envelopes left in the cellar of the building.

The donation includes five envelopes with the coat of arms and one with the monogram of Alexander III's wife, Empress Maria Fyodorovna, and eight sheets of commemorative writing paper from the time of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877‒78,

The items have the Alexander Palace's inventory numbers and are now reunited with the original collection.
