Our Museum takes part in the Serenity and Delight exhibition of Russian 19th-century paintings at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall in St Petersburg until 30 January 2022.

The exhibition spotlights works by more than a hundred Russian artists — including Vladimir Borovikovsky, Vasily Tropinin, Sylvester Schedrin, Orest Kiprensky, Fyodor Tolstoy, Karl Bryullov, Ivan Shishkin, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Mikhail Nesterov and Viktor Borisov-Musatov — from the collections of nearly forty leading museums in Russia and other countries.

The Tsarskoe Selo collection is represented by the Portrait of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich (1870) by Ivan Kramskoy, Girl playing a harp (pre-1802) by Alexei Yegorov, River landscape by Apollinary Goravvsky and View of the Chinese pavilion at Tsarskoe Selo (circa 1840-41) by Ferdinand Perrault.

The project is curated by Semyon Mikhailovsky, rector of the St Petersburg Academy of Arts. A special soundtrack was created by composer and pianist Anton Batagov. The exhibition is designed in cooperation with Agnia Sterligova of the company "Planet 9".
