Tsarskoe Selo opens a children's centre at the Volodarske Local History Museum, our partner museum in the Donetsk People's Republic.
The opening ceremony was led by Mr Sergei Yuzvinkevich, head of the Volodarske Municipal District, and Ms Olga Ivanitsa, director of the Volodarske Local History Museum. They handed over a gratitude certificate to director Olga Taratynova of Tsarskoe Selo "for assisting in creating the children's centre and for contributing to the intellectual and spiritual development of the younger generation".
According to Olga Taratynova, the centre is equipped with tables for sand animation, projection screens and books to help Volodarske's young residents learn lots of new things, including those about Tsarskoe Selo, and immerse themselves in the wonderful world of creativity.
Continuing cooperation with the Volodarske Museum from May 2023, Tsarskoe Selo earlier provided our colleagues with some exhibition equipment, a newly made website and a Christmas/New Year tree with ornaments, and assisted with interior repairs. This year, our museum brought there a banner exhibition based on the travelling project Peter I: The Amber Way's Beginning. Thanks to financial support from our Fiends Society, we were also able to provide furniture, special light tables for sand animation, children's books, plasticine, paints, brushes and other tools.
For financial support, we thank: AN-SECURITY (interior repairs), Bank Saint Petersburg (furniture and equipment), the Humanitarian Convoy charitable foundation (cargo delivery from St Petersburg to Volodarske).
