Mr Georgy Vvedensky, our colleague and the head of the military history department at Tsarskoe Selo, died today at 66.

A man of energy and commitment, Georgy Vvedensky (1954-2021) was the main enthusiast to revive the First World War Museum at the restored Martial Chamber of Tsarskoe Selo. His dream came true in 2014 and there was no man happier than him at the opening ceremony of modern Russia's sole museum of the kind.

He is the author of a dissertation on Russian military uniforms, a dozen books and many articles in specialized periodicals.

We will remember him as a great specialist and passionate museum worker, who looked really good in military uniforms of the early twentieth century.
